Studies show that direct exposure to nature will elevate levels of serotonin which elevate ones feeling of happiness. Just 20 minutes of outdoor exposure a day will also boost energy levels and helps build a more resistance immune system. It was also found that if you cannot get outside and be with nature the simple act of imagining yourself outdoors or recalling an outdoor experience will also elevate mood. So next time you are stressed, irritated or angry try visualizing yourself sitting under a tree feeling the breeze on your face or at the beach watching a sunset.
